The
Seventh Annual
Congenital Heart Defect Awareness
Day
Winter Sports and Fun at the Pottle Tree Farm
Saturday, February 14th we held our Seventh Annual "Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day "Winter Sports & Fun" at the Pottle Tree Farm in Perry Maine to increase awareness of Congenital Heart Defects and raise funds for families affected by CHD's. There were over 100 winter enthusiasts and supporters who came to enjoy the day. It was an icy ski race, but conditions did not deter a hand-full of committed skiers. Young and old had the usual fun sledding down the hill onto the ice and the kids enjoyed the scavanger hunt again this year. We all enjoyed the new lean-to to warm-up in. In addition to our Stronghearts t-shirts available for a donation, bottles of wine were specially bottled and donated to Stronghearts with our own label.
Proceeds from the day were nearly $1,400 dollars with just as much expected to be donated in the next month or two. People came with pennies from last year's penny drive,
