The Fourth
Annual
Congenital Heart
Defect Awareness Day
Winter Sports and Fun at the Pottle Tree Farm
Saturday, February 11th we held our Fourth Annual "Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day "Winter Sports & Fun" at the Pottle Tree Farm in Perry Maine to increase awareness of Congenital Heart Defects and raise funds for families affected by CHD's. Even with no snow we had over 64 winter enthusiasts.
Conditions were wonderful for skating and hiking this year. We had the labyrinth and a sacred fire available as a way to remember Jim Pottle and Seamus Duffy and others affected by congenital heart defects. This year we had our first scavanger hunt and a raffle for prizes.
Proceeds (over $2100) will be donated to the Devon Nicole House in Boston. The Devon Nicole House provides a place for families to stay who are caring for children at Boston Children's Hospital. Stronghearts' donation will go towards travel and food for these families.
