Help for Lily's Family
 

Stronghearts donates towards the small grant fund of the Devon Nicole House Foundation. Lily (5) was one of the recipients of the grants. She was diagnosed with Tricusipd Atresia/VSD/ASD and has had multiple surgeries and special services.  Her mother, Laura Fetridge writes:

Our journey with a heart child has been difficult but rewarding. Lily is an incredible little girl and has taught us so much.  She works hard at whatever her therapists and teachers ask of her.  We admire how she accepts and embraces her special heart and all of the challenges it brings.  Lily loves to play with her sisters, cousins and friends.  She also enjoys playing board games, reading books, riding her bike and she especially loves to play at the ocean. Lily is very excited for her first trip to Disney World this April! Lily had her third and most recent open-heart surgery (the Fontan) at Children's Hospital Boston in February of 2009. 

We had to change insurance companies in order to get coverage for the procedure in Boston and as a result, we incurred substantial out-of-pocket expenses.  The grant we received from Devon Nicole's House Foundation helped to defray some of those costs, and our family is very grateful for the support  Stronghearts has provided to the DNH Foundation to help make the grant possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
