A Gift From Stronghearts Helps

a Family in Need

Strongheart's donation of $2025 provided the first funds for the Devon Nicole House Grant Program to support families caring for children at Boston Childrens Hospital. On December 18th, 2004 the Devon Nicole House presented Strongheart's donation to Rodrigo Brito-Pena and his family to help defray costs of travel from Chile to the United States for Rodrigo's third heart operation at Boston Children's Hospital.

The Devon Nicole House is a home away from home for parents whose children are receiving care at Boston Children's Hospital.  Located on 21 Autumn Street in Boston, the house occupies the 5th floor of a building just 4 blocks away from Children's Hospital.  Each night 13 families now have a place to rest while their children receive the care they need.

Rodrigo's family wrote a letter of thanks to all the Strongheart's Contributors.  They write:

 Dear Members of Stronghearts,

Thank you so much for your generous donation of $2025 to help us defray the cost of coming to the United States for Rodrigo's heart surgery.  We cannot express our gratitude enough.  You and the good people of the Devon Nicole House are such an inspiration to us!  You have touched our lives in a way that we will never forget.  Our journey to save our son's life has been and continues to be rough one.  But we remain optimistic and determined to do whatever is necessary to find the best care for Rodrigo.  And we find hope and faith along the way in people like you.  Your financial and emotional support is a godsend to families like ours, who must travel halfway across the world to a foreign land to find treatment for their children.  Thanks  to your generosity and kindness, we continue to find the strength and courage to persevere!  May God bless you!

With deepest gratitude, Anna maria Pena, Randy Brito and children, Rodrigo, Catalina and Valentina
