Siobhan Duffy and her friends decorated the bottle and heart-shaped bottle
stopper
as part of the Stronghearts "Have a Heart" penny drive. She is
putting in a penny.
Have a Heart--Penny Drive
A penny, 1% of a
dollar, is symbolic of the 1 out of 125 children born with congenital heart
defects. “Have a Heart” is a way to remember and support children and families affected
by congenital heart defects and those caring for them one penny at a time.
Find a bottle wide enough for a penny. Each time you place pennies in the
bottle, remember children, families and all the professionals working hard to
care for children with congenital heart defects. You might also think of
things that you are thankful for. When your bottle is full, make
a donation to Stronghearts. The thoughts are as important as the pennies
that will be used to help families caring for children with congenital heart
defects. Part of the lesson of the Have a Heart penny drive, is that
anyone, big or small, can make a difference by taking a moment to reflect and
care.

Stronghearts can send you a heart-shaped bottle stopper for a suggested donation of $3.00 each. Children may enjoy decorating the bottle and stopper. It is easy using tissue paper and painting the bottle with liquid starch. If you would like a heart-shaped bottle stopper send your request, address and a check to.
