The 13th Annual Winter Sport & Fun Day will be held on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2015, from 10 am to 3 pm at the Pottle Tree Farm in Perry, Maine. The day begins with a cross-country ski race for all ages at 10:30 (weather permitting), and continues through the mid-afternoon with outdoor fun of all kinds: free cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals thanks to the Outdoor Adventure Center at WCCC, ice skating, sledding, open trails, igloo making, ice fishing and an outdoor bonfire and potluck cookout supported by the R & M IGA in Eastport. To contribute to the potluck, please bring food that will hold up in cold weather (finger food, bread, cookies, soups).
At 1 pm, participants are invited to ring cowbells in honor of those caring for children with Congenital Heart Defects.
The event is free and open to the public. Donations benefit Stronghearts in their support of children living with Congenital Heart Defects. T-shirts, cups, small cowbells and backpacks are available for a donation. A raffle will be held for 50 gallons of heating oil donated by Dead River Company.
